2002 SP Game Used Golf Through the Roof

It’s not very often that 2002 SP Game Used boxes come up for auction on the Bay. Even more rare is seeing two in the same week, but that’s exactly what happened recently.
The first auction was for a single box of 2002 SP Game Used Golf and it sold for $364.00. A little over a week later a two box lot sold for $585.00! This is good news for Golf Card collectors as everything golf is going up in price.
Not too long ago you could buy a box of 2001 SP Authentic Golf for less then $70 a box (cases for around $600). With the recent interest in Tiger’s 01 SPA Auto RC you can expect to pay double that for boxes and cases. And this is not specific to 01 SP Authentic either. 03 SP Authentic prices have also doubled in the last 6 months. And you can hardly find boxes of 04 and 05 SP Authentic Golf anymore.
Obviously I have a bit of a bias being a die hard Golf Card collector, but it seems to me the public is catching on to the fact that Golf Cards are no longer being produced. Increased demand plus no new product equals higher prices all around. It wouldn’t suprise me to see this trend continue into the near future. It is going to get harder and harder to find Golf hobby boxes at bargain prices.
