Every month Shlink Lincoln Sports Golf Card Review will be breaking down the Top 25 SP Authentic Golf Rookie card sales. As a dedicated collector of SPA Golf Rookies I keep a close eye on the eBay market. Rankings are not based on price alone as there must be at least two sales per month for a card to qualify. Notable single card sales are listed at the end of the rankings.

Note for February rankings:

With a full month of data and over 300 sales tracked, the Top 10 is now the Top 25. Golf Rookies are alive and well, even if they go unreported in the major price guide publications. Being the first month of the Top 25, a lot of card stats below are marked N/A (not available) as I improved my tracking from January to February. These stats should get more in depth in the coming months.

Avg. Price: Average price of sales for the listed month including single and lot sales.

High Price: Highest price sale for the listed month with eBay sale link (when available).

Last Month: Last month’s rank followed by position change.

$ Change: Percentage change in the “Avg. Price” from the previous month.

#3	Avg. Price $174.73 High Price $261.00 (BGS 9.5)	Phil Mickelson 2002 SP Authentic Auto /799 Second in the golf world only to Tiger. Saw a 59% increase from January to February.	Last Month #2 -1 $ Change +59%
#4	Avg. Price $66.79 High Price $75.00	Paula Creamer 2005 SP Authentic Auto /799 Paula already has a win on the young LPGA season. This card is quickly becoming the cream of the crop amongst lady golfers (pun intended).	Last Month #3 -1 $ Change -23%
#5	Avg. Price $59.26 High Price $117.01 (BGS 9.5)	Retief Goosen 2001 SP Authentic Auto /900 Retief's SPA rookies have seen a resurgence as of late. I picked up one myself this month. Here's to hoping he can get back to his major winning ways.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A
#6	Avg. Price $43.01 High Price $51.00	Annika Sorenstam 2003 SP Authentic Auto /799 She's baaaaaaaaaack. It seems 2007 was just a fluke as Annika wins the season opener in Hawaii. You can still get this card for less than $40 if you look hard enough.	Last Month #4 -2 $ Change +9%
#7	Avg. Price $39.53 High Price $86.00 (BGS 9.5)	David Toms 2001 SP Authentic Auto /900 One of the original "Auto 6", Toms has struggled on tour of late but is always a threat to win. Could jump into the Top 5 if he gets back into the winner's circle.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A
#8	Avg. Price $23.55 High Price $37.00	Natalie Gulbis 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 Not the best (yet), but certainly the most popular. A slight decline in the rankings this month, falling out of the Top 5.	Last Month #5 -3 $ Change -4%
#9	Avg. Price $17.87 High Price $21.50	Lorena Ochoa 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 #1 in the world, Lorena makes here first appearnce in the Top 25 this month with 7 sales in February. #10	Avg. Price $15.79 High Price $23.50	Zach Johnson 2004 SP Authentic Auto /1500 The pride of the class of 04 and still in the Top 10. Can Zach defend his Masters title come April? Keep an eye on this card if he does.	Last Month #6 -4 $ Change -7%
#11	Avg. Price $13.63 High Price $17.50	Stacy Prammanasudh 2005 SP Authentic Auto /999 Stacy P's rookie is one of the tougher 05's to find, with only 2 sales last month. Gotta love that signature.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A
#12	Avg. Price $12.48 High Price $15.00	Nancy Lopez 2003 SP Authentic Auto /799 Nancy's "RC" (some twenty five years after her record breaking rookie season in 1978) is a great price for a H.O.F. auto.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change -14%
#13	Avg. Price $11.10 High Price $18.75	Grace Park 2004 SP Authentic Auto /750 One of only four Level 1 rookies in 04, at only 750, expect to pay a premium.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change -42%
#14	Avg. Price $10.33 High Price $10.50	Sean O'Hair 2005 SP Authentic Auto /999 O'Hair has yet to realize his full potential. His SPA rookie is no different.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A
#15	Avg. Price $9.03 High Price $15.50	Stephen Ames 2005 SP Authentic Auto /999 Ames is the sleeper of February, with a 401% increase in Avg. Price from January and topping out at $15.50. Definately has Top 10 aspirations at only 799 produced.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change +401%
#16	Avg. Price $6.60 High Price $6.69	Cristie Kerr 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 What's better than a 401% $ Change increase? How about a 428% increase!	Last Month 1st Time $ Change +428%
#17	Avg. Price $6.52 High Price $8.50	Len Mattiace 2003 SP Authentic Limited Auto /100 The first Limited to make it into the Top 25, with 2 sales last month. Mattiace has struggled this season with only one made cut.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A
#18	Avg. Price $6.50 High Price $6.51	Se Ri Pak 2003 SP Authentic Auto /799 Pak is another Hall of Famer with a rookie card in 2003 SPA. Pak has yet to play on the LPGA tour thus far. You'll want to get your hands on this card before she does.	Last Month 1st Time $ Change N/A

Every month Shlink Lincoln Sports Golf Card Review will be breaking down the Top 10 SP Authentic Golf Rookie card sales. As a dedicated collector of SPA Golf Rookies I keep a close eye on the eBay market. Rankings are not based on price alone as there must be at least two sales per month for a card to qualify. Notable single card sales are listed at the end of the rankings.

I did not start fully tracking sales until mid month in January so this month’s rankings only list out the Top 9.


#1	Avg. Price $1387.67 High Price $1700.00 (BGS 9)	Tiger Woods 2001 SP Authentic Auto /900 Not much explanation needed here, the best golfer in the world = the best golf rookie card in the world.
#2	Avg. Price $109.65 High Price $115.63 (BGS 9.5)	Phil Mickelson 2002 SP Authentic Auto /799 Fitting that the 2nd best golfer in the world opens in the number two spot. This card is still a bargain considering Phil is always a shoe in for a few wins and will contend for a few majors every year. No graded cards were sold this month (that I saw) so you can expect to pay at least $120 for a BGS 9 or better.
#3	Avg. Price $87.00 High Price $107.50 (BGS 9.5)	Paula Creamer 2005 SP Authentic Auto /799 Paula comes in as the top lady this month. There has been a lot of activity on this card recently and I anticipate the Avg. Price will rise in the next few months. Some lucky eBayer got an ungraded Creamer RC for less than $70.00 in January. Creamer will open the 2008 LPGA season as the defending champion at the SBS Open in mid February.
#4	Avg. Price $39.46 High Price $40.00	Annika Sorenstam 2003 SP Authentic Auto /799 This card has cooled some over the last year as Annika went winless in 2007, though four Top 10’s was not too shabby. No doubt her career is winding down but Annika will always remain one of the top sellers in the hobby. Now might be a good time to pick up this card before the LPGA season gets to full steam.
#5	Avg. Price $24.50 High Price $31.00	Natalie Gulbis 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 Once mostly known for her looks, Natalie broke through for her first LPGA victory last season at the Evian Masters. This card has “Major” potential as Natalie is sure to capture a Major title now that that pesky first win is out of the way. Still her looks definately don’t hurt, as my fiance (hi Ash) often teeses me about my crush on Natalie. I’m glad to say I own a graded version of this card in my PC.
#6	Avg. Price $17.00 High Price 26.00	Zach Johnson 2004 SP Authentic Auto /1500 The 2007 Masters winner had two wins on tour last year and his rookie card has been amongst the best SPA Golf Rookies ever since. This card books for $40 in most guides, but you can still find it for much cheaper if you do your homework. Just don’t bid against me, as I still need to add this card to my PC.
#7	Avg. Price $3.69 High Price $5.11	Julie Inkster 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 Juli enters her 28th season on the LPGA, and was inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame in 1999. As a verteran of the LPGA she is always a threat to win. Bargain hunters can find this card for less than $3. That’s a steal for a H.O.F autograph.
#8	Avg. Price $2.53 High Price $3.52	D.J. Trahan 2005 SP Authentic Auto /999 Sales of this card picked up this last month after D.J.’s victory at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. I’m pleased to say I picked up this card myself for $0.99 right before his win.
#9	Avg. Price $1.80 High Price $1.80	Ben Crane 2003 SP Authentic Auto /1999 Ben sneaks into the Top 10 based on volume alone as two of his rookies sold last month for $1.80 each. I know because I was the losing bidder on both. Oh well. Ben went to my rival high school and I’ve been rooting for him ever since he broke on to the PGA Tour.
