SP Authentic RC Top 25: March 2008
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008Every month Shlink Lincoln Sports Golf Card Review will be breaking down the Top 25 SP Authentic Golf Rookie card sales. As a dedicated collector of SPA Golf Rookies I keep a close eye on the eBay market. Rankings are not based on price alone as there must be at least two sales per month for a card to qualify. Notable single card sales are listed at the end of the rankings.
Note for March rankings:
Total sales were down from last month, but there were still over 250+ sales of SP Authentic Golf Rookies in March.
Avg. Price: Average price of sales for the listed month including single and lot sales.
High Price: Highest price sale for the listed month with eBay sale link (when available).
Last Month: Last month’s rank followed by position change.
$ Change: Percentage change in the “Avg. Price” from the previous month.

Tiger Woods The best SP Authentic Golf RC retains it's #1 ranking with two sales in March. It really is amazing to watch the progress of this card and it's cousin, the /900. As bullrock7 says; "Invest in Tiger Stock." |

Tiger Woods $16,600! Are you kidding me? The Tiger RC momentum appears to have no end in site, twelve sales, increasing 61% in the last 30 days. Ungraded /900s are selling for $5000+. April will be an interesting month indeed, as Tiger is even money to win at Augusta. Sadly to say, I missed the boat on this card. |

Lorena Ochoa This card sets the GCR record for SPA Limited sales in a month with a whopping four sales in March. Lorena's Limited RC tops mainstays Mickelson and Creamer for the #3 spot. It will be hard for this card to maintain it's ranking in the coming months with a two sale minimum requirement, but none the less a great investment. |

Paula Creamer Paula overtakes Phil this month and I foresee this card may be the next big Golf RC to follow in Tiger's footsteps. A 148% increase may be just the beginning. I have been trying to pick up this card for myself for over two months. They only pop up every few weeks. Expect to pay top dollar (and don't bid against me). ;o ) |

Phil Mickelson Phil takes a drop this month, though his SPA RC is still selling strong. Some lucky eBayer picked this up on a best offer for 96.05! Now that's a steal. This card could top $300 if Phil wins his third Masters this month. |

Sergio Garcia Sergio joins the ranks of the Top 10 on his first appearance. With two sales in March, Sergio's RC is much like Paula's, it doesn't come up more then a few times a month. A 66% increase from February with Top 5 potential, will Sergio win a major before it's all said and done? |

Retief Goosen Retief has come to life a bit over the last month with a T14 finish at the API and a T2 finish at Doral. This card is always a steady seller. It will take some of the younger stars below heating up to knock this card out of the Top 10. |

David Toms Slow and steady wins the race. Much like Goosen, Tom's RC is a staple in the Top 10. A slight increase from last month. |

Lorena Ochoa Lorena's RC had the most sales of any SPA RC last month with thirteen (not including her Limited RC). It seems collectors are starting to realize the value of this card. I predict $50 or more by the end of the summer as Lorena has looked unstoppable thus far on the LPGA Tour. |

Suzann Pettersen Pettersen's RC had just one sale in February for less than $5. There were four sales of this card in March and a GCR record 720% increase! Suzann's first appearance in the rankings and in the Top 10 no less. This card was a redemption that expired last summer. Don't be fooled by the /1500 as there appears to be far less redeemed. The price is starting to reflect the scarcity. |

Geoff Ogilvy Same as Pettersen, Ogilvy's RC was a redemption that has since expired. Geoff jumped into the rankings at the last minute with two sales at the very end of the month. |

Sean O'Hair As I elluded to last month, this card is starting to realize it's potential, with a High Price of $39.99 for March and eight total sales. This card is a redemption that expires this summer, not that there's any boxes of 2005 SP Authentic Golf still out there. Get this one now before it starts flirting with the Top 5. |

Zach Johnson Zach falls four spots this month but still had healthy sales in March. Just think a year ago this was a "common" RC card. Just goes to show how The Masters can put a "rookie" on the radar. |

Stacy Prammanasudh Shlink Lincoln impacts the rankings this month as losing two previous attempts for this card paved the way for my High Price bid. Stacy's RC is one of the key 05 RC's and enjoys an +11% increase in March. |

Ben Curtis Another steady climber, Curtis has the distinction of being the only Level 1 04 RC in the rankings this month. The 2003 British Open champion has yet to live up to his potential but remains a solid investment, increasing +108% since last month. |

Carin Koch Koch makes her first appearance in the rankings this month on the strength of a PSA 10 sale, Koch has not won on the LPGA Tour since 2005. Still a 123% increase over last month is not bad at all. |

Paul Casey Mr. Casey sneaks into the rankings this month on a 19% increase from February. At 2999 produced there are still plenty out there and can be got for less than $1 if you do your homework. This card has great potential if Casey can break through for a major win, which I think he will do in the coming years. |

Mike Weir The first non auto RC to make the rankings. Mike has only one Top 10 on the season but has the game to win at Augusta as he did in 2003. This card is still a great bargain for a sure future HOFer. |
